Biography

Amanda Bragg was born 14 Mar 1803 in Vanceburg, Lewis, Kentucky. She was the daughter of Thomas Bragg (1754–1820) and Lucy Neville (Blakemore) Bragg (1763–1862).^[1]

Amanda married Alexander Bruce 18 Feb 1819 in Lewis County, Kentucky. ^[2] The couple had the following children: Brunette Proctor Bruce Redden (1820 - 1908), Thomas Joseph Bruce (1822 - 1896), Henry Clay Bruce (1824 - 1909), John Logan Bruce (1825 - 1915), Nancy Birney Bruce Elliott (1828 - 1898) and Horatio Washington Bruce (1830 - 1903).

Amanda (Bragg) Bruce died on 20 May 1852 in Vanceburg, Lewis County, Kentucky.
