Biography

Sarah Brain was born in about 1806 at Fritwell in Oxfordshire. She was baptised at Fritwell parish church on 9 September 1806, as the daughter of Thomas and Sarah Brains. ^{[1] [2] [3]}

James Hastings and Sarah Brain, both of the parish of St Ebbe, were married at St Ebbe parish church in Oxford on 26 December 1836. ^[2]

In 1851 Sarah Hastings was living at 38 Clarendon Street in Oxford with her husband James and their children. Her age was given as 44, implying a birth date in 1806 or 1807. Her birthplace was given as Fritwell, Oxfordshire. ^[3]
