In 1841, he was living with his family on Siston Common, Gloucestershire. He was 13 years old. [2]
By 1851, Benjamin had married and was living in the hamlet of Oldland. He was working as a collier. Benjamin and Esther had two young sons - William and George. [3]
The next record of Benjamin is the 1881 census. He was working as a haulier and was living at Siston Common, Gloucestershire with wife Hester, daughter and son-in-law Hannah and Cornelius Beer and their daughter Anne, and his daughter Elizabeth who was still single. Both Elizabeth and Hannah were working as cordwainers. [4]
In 1901, Benjamin and Hester were living on their own means, still at Siston Common. Benjamin was aged 72. [5]
By 1911, it appears that Hester had died. Benjamin was living with the Beer family again. He was described as old age pensioner aged 83. [6]
Benjamin died in July of 1912, aged 85. His death was registered in the Keynsham district. He was buried at Holy Trinity Church, Kingswood, Gloucestershire on 28 July 1912. [7]
