her daughter, Mrs. Griffiths, 41 McCracken-

street, Essendon, Elizabeth Scott, beloved

wife of the late Robert Scott, and loving

mother of James, Evelyn (deceased), Violet

(Mrs. Heine), Robert, Bertha, Ethel (Mrs.

Griffiths) and Russell (deceased), aged 85

years.^[3]

SCOTT - On the 12th October at Essen-

don. Elizabeth widow of Robert Scott (late

South Heathcote) loved mother of Jim, Evelyn

(deceased), VI (Mrs. Heine, Hamilton). Robert,

Bertha, Ethel (Mrs. Griffiths Essendon) and

Russell. -Sweet rest. (Interred at Heath-

cote. )^[4]

Elizabeth is interred in Heathcote Cemetery, Grave D223.^[5] The register entry for Elizabeth shows grave D223 Compartment 3 (Presbyterian) whilst the entry for Robert shows grave D223 Compartment 1 (Church of England). The compartments mentioned are the manner in which the cemetery was at that time managed by religious denomination. There are no headstones showing where Robert and Elizabeth are buried (either in compartment 1 or 3) and sadly, at this stage, the allocation of grave numbers over the years has not been able to be determined and there are no maps or plans to assist.
