Biography

Colonel Francis Powell Braithwaite was the son of Reverend John Masterman Braithwaite. He married Lady Victoria Alexandrina Hamilton-Temple-Blackwood, daughter of Frederick Temple Hamilton-Temple-Blackwood, 1st Marquess of Dufferin and Ava and Hariot Georgina Rowan-Hamilton, on 1 October 1920. He died on 23 December 1952. He was decorated with the award of the Military Cross (M.C.).1 He was decorated with the award of the Companion, Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.). He was invested as a Commander, Order of the British Empire (C.B.E.). He gained the rank of Colonel in the service of the Royal Engineers
