JACKSON. Mich., Feb. 6. — Noris H. Branch, a prominent merchant of this city and former member of the Michigan Legislature, was knocked down and instantly killed this afternoon by a race horse on the ice course at Vandercook Lake. The race, 2:30 pace, had four horses entered. Three had finished when Branch, wanting a better view, stepped on the track directly in the path of Greenmore, driven by Fred Gowan, and was killed.
