Camp Eight Pentecostal Cemetery, Otis, Rapides Parish, Louisiana, USA [1]
Funeral services for Mrs. Mavis Olean Barnhart Monk will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 11, 2008 in Camp Eight United Pentecostal Church, Otis with Brother Samuel Russell officiating. Interment will follow in Camp Eight Cemetery under the direction of Rush Funeral Home, Hineston.
Mrs. Monk, 82, of Otis entered eternal rest on Tuesday, April 8, 2008 in her residence. Mavis was a longtime member of Camp Eight United Pentecostal Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Edmond "Buddy" Monk; one daughter, Sandra Gayle Barnhart Mink; one infant son and three sisters, Ada Belle Goodbe, Dudley Lewis and Juanita Branch.
Those left to cherish her memory are two sons, Edward Monk and his wife, Prestine of Otis and Earl Monk and his wife, Earline of Sieper; one daughter, Angela Bivens and her husband, Kenny of Cement, Oklahoma; one sister, Mary Lou Smith of Calcasieu; nine grand-children and twenty-four great-grandchildren.
