Otto II was Markgraf (Margrave) von Brandenburg of the Askanier (Ascanian) dynasty.
He was the eldest son of Otto I, Markgraf von Brandenburg, and his first wife, Judyta (Judith) of Poland. They married on 6 January 1148, so the earliest Otto II could have been born was late in that year.
Otto II is first mentioned in 1170, and presumably succeeded
his father as Markgraf von Brandenburg when he died on 7 March 1184.
Otto II was married but died without issue.[1][2] His wife's name is not known, but beginning with the literature of the 20th century it has been suggested that it was Ada of Holland.[3][4] He died 4 July 1205 and was buried in Lehnin.[2]
