Sabine or Sabina was born 12 May 1529 at Schloss Ansbach, the daughter of Georg 'der Fromme', Markgraf von Brandenburg in Bayreuth and Ansbach, and his second wife, Hedwig, Herzogin von Münsterberg.[1]
She married 12 February 1548 at Schloss Ansbach, as his second wife, Johann Georg, Kurfürst von Brandenburg (John George, Elector of Brandenburg).[2]
They had eleven children,[3] though only three daughters survived until adulthood. The dates of birth of seven of their children are unknown and the following birth order is only a guess. They all held the title Markgraf or Markgräfin von Brandenburg;
Magdalene Sabine, probably born at Schloss Zechlin, died young;
Maria, probably born at Schloss Zechlin, died before 1571;
Georg Albrecht, born 19 February 1555 probably at Schloss zu Berlin, died young 8 January 1557 in Berlin and was buried there;
Hedwig probably born at Schloss Zechlin, died young, before 1571;
Johann, twin with the following, died young;
Albrecht, twin with the preceding, died young;
Erdmuthe or Erdmute, born 26 June 1561 probably at Schloss Zechlin, died 23 November 1623 at Schloss zu Stolpe, buried 7 February 1624 at Stettin, probably the Schlosskirche. She married 17 February 1577 at Schloss zu Stettin, Johann Friedrich, Herzog von Pommern-Stettin (John Frederick, Duke of Pomerania in Stettin), born 27 August 1542, died 19 February 1600;
Magdalene, probably born at Schloss Zechlin, died in infancy before 1571;
Margarete, born probably at Schloss Zechlin, died young, before 1571;
Anne Marie, born 3 February 1567 at Schloss Zechlin, died 14 November 1618 at Schloss Wollin, buried 27 December 1618 in Schlosskirche at Stettin. She married 7 October 1581 at Schloss Berlin, Barnim XII, Herzog in Pommern-Stettin (born 14 February 1549, died 11 September 1603;
Sophie, born 6 June 1568 at Schloss Zechlin, died 17 December 1622 at 'Kurfürstlichen Hause auf der Creutzgasse' in Dresden, and was buried 7 February 1623 at Freiberg Cathedral. She married 25 April 1582 at Schloss Dresden, Christian I, Kurfürst von Sachsen (Elector of Saxony), born 29 October 1560, died 5 October 1591.
Sabine died 2 November 1575 at Schloss Berlin, and was buried 17 November 1575 at Berlin Cathedral.[4]
