Biography

Carl C. (likely Carrpenter) Brandon was born in 1882 in Pennsylvania, the son of Willis Brandon and Elizabeth Carpenter.

1895 Kansas State Census--The Brandon family lived in Clyde, Cloud Co. Kansas. In the household: Willis--40, a photographer; Lizzie--38; Earl--15; Carl--13 and Lulu--11. All born in PA.

06 June 1900--Carl was 18 and lived in the household of Willis Brandon, Elk Township, Clyde City, Cloud Co., Kansas. His brother, Earl--20, was a shoe salesman. He and his sister Lulu, aged 16, attended school.

01 March 1905, Kansas State Census-- " Earl" (actually Carl) Brandon was 23 years old, lived with his parents in Cloud Co. His sister, Lula--21, was also in the home. His father was a photographer and he was a dentist. All were born in PA.

Carl C. Brandon and Ethelyn Piper were married 18 Jul 1906 in Irving, Marshall Co., Kansas, by the Rev. Moffit. The groom was 24 years of age, with an occupation listed as dentist, and the bride's age was 23. She was the daughter of A. J. and Nellie (Hough) Piper. It was a first marriage for both.
