Isaac "Ike" Branham was born on 31 Aug 1803 in Scott County, Kenticky. In 1823, at the age of 20, along with a companion named Williams started out on foot to Missouri. His brother, Franklin, Joined him later in Fulton, Callaway County, Missouri. He married Amanda Ann Bailey in 1832 in Callaway County, Missouri. In the spring of 1846, the family, consisting of him and his wife and their four children, started for California in two wagons pulled by three oxen each, two horses, and two cows. The trip from Independence, Missouri to the California State Line took a little over six months.
He was a very successful famer and lumber mill owner.
The Branham Hign School in Jan Jose, Santa Clara County, California was named for him.
