Biography

John was born in 1850. He was the son of Michael Branner and Elsie Baker. He passed away in 1922.

John was a noted geologist and academic. He was also one of the founding faculty of Stanford University and it's president from 1913-1915.

He was also a genealogist and authored the book, "Casper Branner of Virginia and His Descendants ".

Married Susan Dow Kennedy on June 22, 1883 at Onieda, NY. They had three children.[1]
