Edward was born on March 20, 1885. Edward Brant. He passed away about 1943. In the Cober book, The Brant Genealogy of Somerset County, PA referenced below, Edward Ellsworth Brant's birth year is 1885. In the Find a Grave reference with a picture of his gravestone, his birth year is 1886. I do not know which is accurate.
