Biography

Joseph La Citardis Brasseur was born 3 Mar 1726. He was the son of Mathieu Brasseur la Citardis and Jeanne Celestin (Bellemare). He was baptized 14 Apr 1726 at Saint Charles des Mines, Grand-Pré, Acadia. His godparents were Joseph Landry and Marguerite Commeau. [1][2] [3]

He married Marie Rose Daigre, daughter of Jean Daigre and the late Marguerite Landry 29 Oct 1748 at Saint Charles des Mines, Grand-Pré, Acadia.[4][5][6]

He was buried on the 16 Jun 1777 Nantes Loire-Atlantique, France 2[8]

Research Notes

Two of the baptism entries in sources are of the same transcript which says March 8. The DOBR says March 3, and this is used by Reader and Landry as well.(Bourque-573 20:13, 29 June 2022 (UTC))

Brasseur-59 and Brasseur-186 appear to represent the same person because: Same name, same birth (the 3 could be a typo meant to be 8) but same month and year anyway. The Brassuer-186 is kind of an orphan hanging out there and needs to be merged into it's counterpart.
