Biography
Based on information from "John Brattain (1720-1784) the First American Brattain and His Descendants" (2nd Edition) (Spiral-bound) by Richard Brattain (Author). This book begins with John Brattain who lived from 1720 to 1784. He was born in Scotland and married a woman named Rachel. They had two children, Robert, born in 1746 in Scotland and Rachel born in 1752 in North Carolina. Each subsequent chapter describes each succeeding generation of Brattains up to the last census that is in the public domain which is the 1930 census. As a result, there are 10 generations of Brattains and related families included in this book; in addition, there are over 430 surnames and over 2000 entries of individuals.
