Fond du Lac Commonwealth Reporter, Apr. 16, 1971, p. 20:1. N.A. Braun of City Dies at Age of 84. Nicholas A. Braun, 84, of 388 E. 13th St., died at 1 a.m. today at his home. He was born June 7, 1886, in Eden, a son of Peter and Julia Herbert Braun. He married Elizabeth Blackbird on June 17, 1920 in North Fond du Lac. Mr. Braun operated a general store in Eden for many years and was the postmaster there from Nov. 1, 1940, until 1956 when he retired and moved to the city. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Catholic Order of Foresters, St. Lawrence Seminary Calvary Parents Guild, National Association of Civil Employes, St. Joseph's Church and Holy Name Society of the parish. Survivors include his widow; a son, the Rev. David J. Braun of St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Milwaukee; a daughter, Mrs. Robert F. Daul of the city; three grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Thomas Meade of Campbellsport and Mrs. Floyd Carr of Route 1, Eden; and a brother, Edward Braun of Eden. He was preceded in death by a daughter, three brothers and a sister. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home and at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph's Church. Fr. Braun, son of the deceased, will officiate at a concelebrated mass. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery at Eden. Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
