Biography

Michael was probably born on 1 October 1609. This approximate date of birth was calculated from the information in Michael's burial record, according to which he would have completed his 54th year of life on 1 October 1663.
According to Michael's marriage record, he came from Schernbach, parish of Göttelfingen near Freudenstadt, Duchy of Württemberg.
A record of Michael's baptism does not exist, as there is no baptismal register from the time before 1644 in the parish of Göttelfingen.
For this reason and because there is no corresponding information in the marriage record, it is not known who Michael's parents were.

Michael married Magdalena Mast née Frey, the widow of Hannß Mast, who had been "Gastmeister" of Klosterreichenbach near Freudenstadt, Duchy of Württemberg, on 21 August 1639 in Klosterreichenbach. As a result of the marriage, Michael became the new "Gastmeister". This means that he was the head of the inn belonging to the monastery of Klosterreichenbach.
Their children were:

1. Johannes Michael, bapt. 21 June 1640 in Klosterreichenbach, married Anna Catharina Lang 26 July 1664 in Klosterreichenbach.
2. Andreas, bapt. 10 November 1641 in Klosterreichenbach.
3. Anna Maria, bapt. 5 September 1646 and died 25 July 1647 in Klosterreichenbach.
4. Johannes Jacobus, bapt. 30 July 1648 and died 13 September 1654 in Klosterreichenbach.

Michael was buried on 17 July 1663 in Klosterreichenbach.
