Biography

George came to new Zealand in 1864 Steinwarder. He was listed as Louis Braun 3 months. The family settled in Waiuku. George married Esther Sarah Trott in 1887. The marriage went under Brown. Papers past Show the marriage correct under braun. They farmed in Waiuku. They had 8 children. Kate Gertrude Braun/William John Braun 1908/George Leslie Braun 1898/Marcella Annie Louisa Braun 1892/maud Elsie Braun 1895/Sarah Amy Emmeline 1890.Two more children but got put under Brown. Doreini May Brown 1903. She was called Doreen Braun and died age 2 and is buried in Waiuku cemetery with Maria Henrietta and her uncle Henry. The other child was Winifred Selina Braun 1902 but was also put under brown when registered.^[1]
