Biography

George Braxton was born in 1705 at Newington plantation, King and Queen County, Virginia.[1] He was a son of George Braxton and Elizabeth Paulin.

Family

George married Mary Carter.[2] Children:

  1. George Braxton
  2. Carter Braxton b 1736

Mary died just seven days after giving birth to Carter Braxton, on September 17, 1736.[2]

Death and Legacy

George died after the writing of his will, which was written on the 13th day of September 1749.[3]

Slaves

George Braxton owned many slaves which is made clear from his will. A full accounting needs to be done.

  • London (Braxton) Claiborne was mentioned in his will and was sent as a servant to George and Carter while they attended the College of William and Mary.
