Alfred Henry Bray was born on 10 May 1912, his birth being registered at Helston, Cornwall in the 2nd quarter of that year[1]. He was the younger son of John Symons Bray and Susan Jane Orchard.
His parents separated when he was quite young.
He married Edith Lutey (the daughter of Garfield Lutey and Louisa Prowse) in 1938 in St. Germans, Cornwall[2].
They may have had two children.
In the 1939 England and Wales Register Alfred H Bray (aged 27) was recorded living with his wife Edith M Bray (27) at 12 Thomas Street, Helston, Cornwall, England.
