Biography

Daniel was born in 1716. He was the son of John Bray. He passed away in 1778.

Daniel Bray, son of Rev John and Anna Seabrook Bowne Bray, was born one month after his father's death on March 28 1716 and died before March 17 1785 the date his will was proved. He married Anna Martin,[1] however, in the will no wife is named.

They were the parents of:

  1. Anne b 1743, d July 11 1816 in Piscataway, New Jersey.[2] She married Ruena Runyan Jr [3]on June 8 1765 in Middlesex County, New Jersey.[4]
  2. Unnamed mother of Joseph West named in her father's will.
  3. Daniel
  4. James
  5. John m Rachel_________[5][6][7][8]

Research Note

Daniel Bray's will was written in 1771 names Joseph West, a grandson who is given 200 pounds when he reaches the age of 21. This suggests the other daughter married a West. Anne is named in his will and Ruena Runyon, her husband, is an equal heir with John, his son. James, his son, only got 10 pounds because of bad behavior and Daniel got no inheritance because he did not take his father's advice. This is in the will cited above.
