Biography

James was born in Richland County, South Carolina. It is apparent that he had two brothers, William and Joseph, and that his father is Jacob. He did have a will, but it was destroyed when the Camden County, Georgia courthouse burned after the Civil War. There is an index of the wills still in existence that references his will in Camden County, Georgia.[1]
