Marguerite-Josephe was born about 1736. She was listed on the 1752 census at Isle Saint-Jean (present-day Prince Edward Island) at the age of 16.[1]
She married Simon Henry on 7 January 1755 at Port-la-Joye, Isle-Saint-Jean. [2]
In 1758, during the second wave of deportations that took place on Ile Saint-Jean and Ile-Royale, the family was deported to France. They were forced aboard one of five English ships that left in the fall of 1758, and docked at Saint-Malo on 23 January 1759. Simon and Marguerite-Josèphe's daughter Agathe died at sea at 2 years of age. Marguerite-Josèphe was pregnant with Simon during the crossing, and gave birth 4 months after arriving in France. [3]
at Rivière-de-l'Ouest : Joseph Braud, ploughman, a native of l'Acadie, aged 40 years. He has been in the country two years. Married to Ursulle Bourg, native of l'Acadie, aged 38 years.
They have ten daughters.

Perptue, aged 10 years.
Elisabeth Françoise, aged 8 years .
Luce, aged 6 years.
Anne Joseph, aged 5 years.

Rosalie, aged 1 year.
Living with them is Charles Braud, native of l'Acadie, age 26 years, unmarried.
In live stock they have two oxen, one cow, two heifers, one bull, one ewe, two sows, and two pigs.
The land upon which they are settled is situated on the north side of the said river du Ouest and was given to them verbally by the Monsieur de Bonnaventure. They have made a clearing on it for the sowing of about four bushels of wheat.
