Biography

CECILE BREAU veuve GEORGE CLOATRE is on the Wall of Names at the Acadian Memorial in St. Martinville, Louisiana Plaque 2 Right. Also on the plaque are Cloatre children Joseph, Madeleine and Charles.[1]

Cécile Brault was born in 1738 in Pisiguit, Acadie. Her parents were Alexandre Breaux and Marie Dugas. [2]
She married first Charles Gaudet on May 16, 1768. [3] Together they had these children:
  1. Jerome Gaudet
  2. Michel Gaudet
  3. Auguste Gaudet
She married Georges Clouatre about 1760 while living in exile in Maryland. [2]Together they had 3 children:
  1. Marie Madeleine Cloatre
  2. Charles Clouatre
  3. Joseph Clouatre
Cecile Braud age about 70 and native of Acadia, widow (1) of George Cloatre and (2) Charles Gaudet died on July 02, 1815 in St. James, Louisiana, United States.[4]

Breaux-752 and Brault-11 appear to represent the same person because: same birth and death dates, same father. Neither profile has the correct LNAB. One of the profiles should be changed to BREAU per Acadians Project guidelines, then the other profile merged into it.
