Biography

Mary Grace Breed, born 21 Nov 1852 (1851 per grave memorial), was the fourth child of Julia Ann (Porter) Breed (1820-1909) & Sands Niles Breed (1810-1898).

She married probably 16 Feb 1873 in Illinois, Fred J. Loring [b. 15 Oct 1849 in Maine; d. 1 Sep 1905, San Antonio, Texas; son of Frederick Cannon Loring & Mary Abby (Keill)]. They resided at Galesburg, Illinois, where they had their children [1],[2]:

  1. Fred Porter Loring, b. Aug. 15, 1876; married 1) Rose Lee Smith (1875 - 1949); 2) Pauline Otto (1895 - 1989) [3]
  2. Charles Draper Loring, b. Jan. 10, 1884; married 1) In 1909 Sarah Margaret McCulloch (1888 - 1911); 2) Paula Rose Flaig (1891 - 1931); 3) Opal McClure (1906 - 1933); 4) In 1937 Dorothy Newton (1894 - 1987) [4]
  3. Grace Eloise Loring, b. 23 Jan 1891; married Max H. Schirmacher (1886 - 1946) [5]

Mary Grace (Breed) Loring died 2 Feb 1937 at San Antonio [8]. Her grave is in Mission Burial Park South, San Antonio, Bexar County, Texas, USA [9].

Notes

Birth year is uncertain. Death record gives birth date Oct. 39, 1851, which is obviously garbled. Grave marker gives year 1851, but not a precise date. Breed family genealogy gives date, Nov. 21, 1852. Social Security application gives 30 Oct 1851 [10].
