Jabez L. C. Breed was born in 1859, probably in Randolph County, Alabama. He was the eighth child of Larkin Breed and Catherine Tindal[1]. He may have been addressed also as Jabus.
According to his online memorial site, he married first, Permelia M. [Probably Permelia (M or T) Wilson (1858 - 1902), daughter of Samuel Wilson [2]; also known as Amelia Lendeman or Lemons, also Amelia Wilson; date of marriage probably 2 Feb 1883, Fannin, Texas [3]]. These children are listed in their online memorial sites (there may have been others):
Pearle Elizabeth Breed (1885–1968); married Walter B. Jones [5]
Willie Edna Breed (1889–1984); married Wilburn Otto Davison [6]
Bud Larkin Breed (1892–1976); married Noma Ada Jackson [7]
Susie Cordelia Breed (1894–1988); married Marcus Nathan Smith [8]
The 1920 U.S. census of Pushmataha County, Oklahoma lists Jabus's second wife, Cora, also a daughter whose age (17) places her as a child of his first wife, thus step-daughter of his second [9]:
Parmelia Breed, b. about 14 Jan 1802; probably married George H. Wolfe
From her grave memorial [10], evidently Jabus's first wife Permelia died 5 days after the birth of her daughter Permelia.
Jabus married second, in 1909, Cora Lee [nee Butler, later Jones; 1883 - 1958 [11]], who thereby became step-mother to his children who were still of minor age.
Jabus Larkin Curry Breed died 30 Nov 1931 in Pushmataha County, Oklahoma. His grave is in Antlers City Cemetery, Antlers, Pushmataha County, Oklahoma, USA [12].
