Biography
Bertha Wood Breed, born 15 Apr 1878 at Caughdenoy, New York, was the second child of Celestia Aurelia Wood & Frank Merrill Breed.
Bertha Wood Breed graduated from Oswego (NY) State Normal School.
Bertha taught at the Matteawan State Hospital for the criminally insane. This (probably) is where she met her husband, Dr. Frank Weigand.
She married 27 Jun 1906 at Phoenix, New York, Dr. Frank Joseph Weigand. They had no children.
Bertha and Frank Weigand were traced in census records of Queens, New York, from 1910 forward [1],[2],[3].
Bertha Wood (Breed) Weigand died 29 Oct 1939 at Jamaica (Queens), New York, as a result of a car crash, wherein she and her husband were both killed. Her grave is in plot section 20, Phoenix Rural Cemetery, Phoenix, Oswego County, New York, USA [4].
