Biography

James was born 1864 - 1868. He is most likely the son of John Breen and Mary Lucey. ^[1]

He was a farmer in Kerry, Ireland and was literate, speaking both Irish and English.

He married Deborah Breen, known as 'Gubby'. In the census of 1901 they lived at house 1 Magherasrahan, Curraghmore, Kerry, with Deborah's 11 year old sister Catherine (Katie). ^[2]Gubby's family lived at house 2.

James was very likely the brother of Jeremiah Breen who married his wife's sister Catherine (Katie).

James died in 1903 ^[3]and Gubby remarried in 1908, to John Foley and had 6 children.
