Frederick Brereton CBE is Notable.

Frederick was born in 1872. [1]

Frederick trained in medicine at Guy's Hospital and served as medical officer to 2nd Scots Guards during the Boer War.[2]

Frederick married Ethel Mary Lamb on 5 January 1898 in Birkdale, St James, Lancashire, England.[3]

In the 1911 census Frederick (age 38, Retired Royal Army Medical Corp Captain) was living with his wife, daughter, a visitor and 3 servants at The Manor House, Ham, Hungerford, Berkshire, England.[4]

Frederick served with the Royal Army Medical Corps in the First World War and was awarded a CBE and the Portugese Order of Aviz.

In addition to his military career Frederick was also a prolific author, publishing over 40 books (mostly for children). He also served as Mayor of Hemel Hempstead 1927-1928. [5]

In the 1939 register Frederick (age 67, Author Royal Army Medical Corps (Retired)) was the married head of household in Heath Barn, Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire, England.[6]

He passed away in 1957. [7]
