RE: Estate packet of BROTHER Ebenezer Brewer
The Ebenezer Brewer Estate packet (File No 1633) in the Court of Common Pleas, Belmont County, Ohio is especially enlightening and helpful for developing and understanding family and FAN relationships for this Ebenezer BREWER and his extended Brady + Brewer family. He dies intestate following an illness and prior to the 13 Apr 1840 court acknowledgement of the posting of Admin bond for/by Edward Milner. The packet is more than 60 pages.
Of particular interest in the estate packet are the items having to do with an 1838 debt incurred to a (then) "Mary Bradey". She is later (Nov 1840) reimbursed by the estate in her 1840 current name of "Mary Hendricks". This record trail has proven critical in establishing the identity of this Ebenezer Brewer's AUNT Mary Brewer Brady Hendricks. (She -- as widowed Mary Brady -- must have moved from Indiana County, Pennsylvania area to Belmont County, Ohio by 1838 in order to have done sewing for brother Ebenezer Brewer, for which he now owes her as "Mary Bradey." She then remarries in Belmont County, Ohio on 26 Mar 1840 to Thomas Hendricks. She attempts to again collect from Ebenezer Brewer estate in Nov of 1840 as Mary Hendricks. She eventually collects as Mary Hendricks and assigns claim to James Gardner.)
This Ebenezer Brewer's FATHER Daniel Brewer II is the brother of the Mary Brewer Brady Hendricks of estate claims.
This Ebenezer Brewer's MOTHER Mary Brady was the sister of John Brady -- the FIRST husband of this Mary Brewer Brady Hendricks.
Three BREWER (of Daniel Brewer Sr + Margaret Bennett) children marry three BRADY (of Ebenezer Brady + Jane Irwin) children:
Daniel Brewer II + Mary Brady
Mary Brewer + John Brady
Catherine/Christina Brewer + William Brady
The three Brady children are all children of Ebenezer Brady (1750-1804), my 4GGrandfather. I am descended of John Brady + Mary Brewer.
The original work on the estate packet and the unraveling of the Mary Brewer Brady Hendricks identity was accomplished 2015-2018 by Elizabeth Brady and father Allen H Brady. Separate atDNA confirmation of the BREWER identity was done in 2018 by Elizabeth Brady and confirmed by Chris Hansen. (eb 2/15/23)

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Mary by comparing test results with other carriers of her mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known mtDNA test-takers in her direct maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Mary:
