Biography

Lemuel, son of Joseph and Elizabeth (Turner) Brewster, was born at Duxbury, MA on June 28, 1729. He married Abigail Brewster at Kingston, MA on January 29, 1756. He died before April 18, 1774 when letters of administration of his estate were issued.

Children

Lemuel and Abigail (Brewster) Brewster had the following (6) children:[1]

  1. Elizabeth, born 19 December 1758; married Samuel Walker
  2. John, born 13 February 1761; died young
  3. Ariel/Royal, born 11 June 1765; married Fear Cobb
  4. Rebecca, born about 1767
  5. Joseph, born about 1769; married Susanna Bradford
  6. John, baptized 9 May 1773

Probate

Lemuel Brewster of Kingston, laborer died intestate and on 18 April 1774, his widow Abigail Brewster was granted the administration of his estate.[2]

His inventory was taken on 25 April 1774 in Plymouth. Abigail was the administrator of his estate. An account of his estate by Abigail Brewster was recorded which included necessaries to the widow, and administration fees. There was no estate remaining.[3]

In 1786, his estate was represented as insolvent.[4] Timothy Walker of Wilmington was granted the administration of his estate after the death of his widow, Abigail.[5]

In 1787, a second inventory was taken. Timothy Walker gave oath to the inventory. His estate was represented as insolvent. A list of claims and creditors was recorded. An account of his estate by Timothy Walker was recorded which included legacies paid, interest paid, and administration fees.[6] A second account of his estate included the sale of real estate, balance from the former account, and administration fees. The balance was proportioned to pay the creditors.[7]
