Charles was born about 1777. He was the son of Joseph Brewster and Deborah Hunt. He was a mariner and was one of many Massachusetts natives who removed to Hancock County, Maine after the Revolution. He passed away in 1840.
Charles Brewster and Polly Loring had several children: Melzar (a name in both families), Charles, Joshua, Mary and Joseph. The first two were born at Duxbury and the last three in Orland, Maine.
