Biography

Edna Violet Anderson Brewster was born on 13 Nov 1920, daughter of Harold George Brewster (1899 - 1985) and Edna Gaines (Anderson) Brewster (1903 - 1970).

Her siblings were:

  2. Jean Margaret (Brewster) Trites (1923 - )
  3. Muriel Hazel (Brewster) Andrews (1925 - 2017)

Edna (20) married Preston Paul Wilbur (27) (born in Midway, Harvey, Albert, New Brunswick, Canada on 8 Jun 1913; died in 1985), son of Herbert Kinnear Wilbur and Blanche Edith Copp, on 28 Mar 1941 in Moncton, Westmorland, New Brunswick.

Edna died on 13 May 2010 in New Brunswick aged 89. She is buried in Bay View Cemetery, Harvey.[1]

Obituary

1920-2010 - Edna Violet Northorp, 89, of Forest Dale Home passed away peacefully on May 13th, 2010 at the nursing home with her family by her side. Edna was born in Harvey, Albert County on November 13, 1920 the daughter of the late Harold and Edna (Anderson) Brewster. She worked at Fundy National Park as a cashier for 29 years. Edna was a an active member of the Harvey Baptist Church throughout her life. She taught Sunday School and sang in the church choir. She was a beloved housewife and mother. Edna took great pride in raising her family and cherished all the time spent together. She was always there for them and they knew they could count on her. She will be remembered for her great sense of humour and quick wit, she always had an answer or comeback for every comment. She loved pœtry and pœms and even at the nursing home she would recite pœtry she had learned in her school days. She had a beautiful smile and even in her later years she never complained. She was a very special lady. "Your gentle smile and generous heart will live with us forever." She will be deeply missed by... Besides her parents she was predeceased by her first husband, Preston Wilbur (1985); granddaughter, Serena Cormier; sister, Jean Trites; brothers, George and Fred Brewster. She will be resting at the Albert County Funeral Home with visitation on Tuesday, May 18th, 2010 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm. The funeral service will be held at the Harvey Baptist Church on Wednesday, May 19th, 2010 at 1:00pm with Rev. Donald Oldford officiating. Interment will be in the Bayview Cemetery, Harvey, NB. Donations to the Harvey Baptist Church, Forest Dale Home or to the charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements are in the care of the Albert County Funeral Home
