John Arthur Brey of Reedsburg, at the age of 93 years 7 months 19 days, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on Tuesday, February 18, 2014, at the Reedsburg Area Medical Center. He was born on June 30, 1920, in Plain, Wisconsin the son of Arthur and Anastasia (Brickl) Brey.
He was married to Mildred Bindl on October 23, 1946, in Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Reedsburg.
There was never a challenge he couldn't overcome because of his strong reliance on his faith. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus 4th Degree, Catholic Knights and Catholic Order of Foresters.
He enjoyed working the land and loved his farm, the time he spent fishing and at the tree farm in Wautoma.
He was also employed for 26 years at Seats Inc. in Reedsburg and never missed a day at work.
He enjoyed playing Sheepshead and Euchre. He enjoyed the time he volunteered at St. Vincent DePaul and RAMC. He loved his church and was active as a Eucharistic Minister, Usher and Money Counter.
He was an avid Beaver, Badger, Brewer and Packer Fan.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 23, 2014, from 4:00-8:00 p.m.at the Farber Funeral Home with Knights of Columbus rosary being prayed at 8:00 p.m. Visitation will be held at the church on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
We will celebrate his life with a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, February 24, 2014, at 11:30 a.m.in Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Reedsburg, with Fr. Thomas Monaghan officiating.
Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Reedsburg.
Memorials of remembrance may be made to Sacred Heart School Endowment Fund or to Sacred Heart Church.
