Robert was born about 1730, Belfast, Ireland, the son of Charles Brice and Jane Robinson.
Robert joined the British Royal Navy and was made a lieutenant on 29-Apr-1756 and a commander on 03-Jul-1761.
In 1763 he married Elizabeth Corry from Newtown (later Newtownards), County Down, Ireland in St James, Westminster, London, England. On the death of Elizabeth's last surviving maternal uncle in 1766, she succeeded to her grandfather's estates and Robert assumed by Act of Parliament the surname of Kingsmill.
On 1-Feb-1793 he was promoted to Rear Admiral, then Vice Admiral on 04-Jul-1794 and finally Admiral on 14-Feb-1799.
He was created a baronet on 24-Nov-1800.[1]
He died on 23 Nov 1805 in Sydmonton Court, Hampshire, England.[2] and was buried at Kingsclere on 3 Dec 1805.[3]
Robert named Rev John Stephens as heir. John is shown as his son here but this is speculative.
