Biography

Parish was born June 19, 1833 [1] in Virginia. His parents were Jared Brickey and Nancy Parish Brickey.

On the 1850 Census, he was a 16 year old male living in Scott County, Virginia with his parents and siblings: Adeline Brickey, John Brickey, Caroline Brickey, Patterson Brickey, Compton Brickey, William Brickey, Landon Brickey, and Elijah Brickey. According to the census, he was working as a farmer, and he was born in Virginia. [2]

He married Mary Jane Green Jul 26 1854 in Scott, Virginia. His parents were Praish Brickey and Nancy. Nancy's parents were Robert Green and Derinda. [3]

On the 1860 Census, he was listed as a 26 year old, white male living inScott, Virginia with his wife, Jane, and children: Derinda and Jaley. He was working as a farmer. Parrish, his wife and children were all recorded as being born in Virginia. [4]

On the 1870 Census, he was listed as a 36 year old, white male living in Elliott County, Kentucky with his wife, Mary Jane, and children: Mary A. Brickey, Sena Brickey, Landon Brickey, Emily Brickey, Mary J. Brickey, and John Brickey. He was working as a farmer. He and his parents were recorded as being born in Virginia. [5]

On the 1880 Census, he was listed as a 46 year old, white male living in Little Fork, Elliott County, Kentucky with his wife, Mary Jane, and children: Mary A. Brickey, Sena Brickey, Landon Brickey, Emily Brickey, Mary J. Brickey, and John Brickey. He was working as a farmer. He and his parents were recorded as being born in Virginia. [6]

On the 1900 Census, he was listed as a 67 year old, white male living in Newcomb, Elliott County, Kentucky with his wife, Mary Jane, and two children, Malissa and John. According to the census, he had been married for 45 years. He was a farmer who owned his own home and farm. According to this census, he and his parents were born in Virginia. He could read, write, and speak English. [7]

He died September 29, 1917 in Newcomb, Elliott County, Kentucky.[8] He was buried in the Parish Brickey Family Cemetery in Isonville, Elliott County, Kentucky. [1]

Brickey-277 and Brickey-137 appear to represent the same person because: Census sources are included with Brickey-137, as well as Marriage source stating his parent were Jared Brickey and Nancy. No sources have been found that he is William's son.

Gravestone on William and his Grave Page do not list anyone named Parish. https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/149564233/william-c.-brickey

Brickey-277 and Brickey-137 are not ready to be merged because: Not enough data yet to merge the two profiles, and the fathers are different.
