Biography

Alma (Bricknell) Rosier was born in the Colony of Tasmania (1856-1900)

Jessie Alma Bricknell, daughter of James George Bricknell (Laborer) and Johanna Douglas, was born on 30 Aug 1900, at Skelbrook, Mersey, Tasmania, Australia. [1] [2] [3]

Alma married John William Rosier on 16 Jan 1924 at Holy Trinity Church, Launceston, Tasmania. [4]

Alma Jessie Rosier died in 1953. Her death was reported in Examiner (Launceston, Tas. : 1900 - 1954) Sat 17 Jan 1953 Page 13 Family Notices: [5]

ROSIER.-On January 16, 1953, at the Launceston General Hospital. Alma Jessie, dearly loved wife of John William Rosier, and loving mother of Ray, Jean, Marj (Mrs. Hill), John, Max, Kath (Mrs. Prestage), Brian, Graham and Marlene. Aged 52 years. Late of 22 Boland St., Launceston.

THE funeral of Mrs. Alma Jessie Rosier, wife of Mr. John W. Rosier, of 22 Boland St., took place, at the Carr Villa Cemetery and was attended by a large gathering of relatives and friends.
The Rev. B. McCall, of Holy Trinity Church, conducted the services at the some and graveside.
Chief mourners were Mr. Rosier (husband), Messrs. Ray, John, Max, Brian and Graham (sons), Jean, Marj, Kath and Marlene (daughters). Messrs. J. Hill and T. Prestage (sons-in-law). Will, George and Allan Bricknell (brothers), Mrs. Gladys Woodhouse (sister), Mrs. Ida Bricknell (sister-in-law), Mrs. Connie Clark (niece) and Mr. Ron Clark (nephew).
Before coming to live in Launceston Mrs. Rosier lived at St. Helens for many years and was well known throughout that district.
Funeral arrangements were by C. T. Finney and Sons.

Alma was buried at Carr Villa Memorial Park (Launceston Cemetery), Launceston, Tasmania, Australia [7][8] Her gravestone reads:
