Biography

Victor Bridges was born in the Colony of Victoria (1851-1900)

Victor Olley Bridges was born in 1887 in Brunswick, Victoria, Australia, the son of Martha (Sutcliffe) Bridges and Joseph Bridges.[citation needed]

Private Victor Olley Bridges enlisted into the Australian Imperial Force (AIF) on the 29th of June 1915. His Next of Kin was listed as his father J. Bridges of 243 Brunswick Road, Brunswick, Victoria.
Victor Bridges is an Anzac who served in World War One.
Unfortunately there is confusion on which he served with and on which voyage he embarked on:
  • 1st Australian General Hospital 1-6 Special Reinforcements
  • Unit embarked from Melbourne, Victoria, on board HMAT A71 Nestor on 11 October 1915.
or:
  • 2nd Australian General Hospital, Special Reinforcements
  • Unit embarked from Melbourne, Victoria, on board HMAT A17 Port Lincoln on 18 October 1915 .

He married Agnes Maria Edwards in 1920 in Victoria.[1]

Victor died in 1966 in Heidelberg, Victoria, aged 78 years.[2]
