Biography

Caroline Bridgham was born December 3, 1806, to William and Hannah (Bradbury) Bridgham.

She married Luther Roland Crocker on May 24, 1832 in Buckfield, Maine. Luther died on April 20, 1844 in Buckfield, Maine.

On January 5, 1852, in Buckfield, Maine, Caroline (Bridgham) Crocker married Cyrus Bridgham, her third cousin.

Cyrus Bridgham died on May 11, 1863, 67 years old and is buried at New Yard Cemetery, Androscoggin Co.

Caroline lived 34 more years, dying December 1, 1897 in Buckfield, just two days short of her 91st birthday.

The death of Mrs. Caroline Crocker Bridgham [sic] at West Minot this week Thursday at the age of 91 years and 3 months [sic] removes another native of Buckfield. Mrs. Bridgham was the daughter of the late Dr. William Bridgham, and married for her first husband Luther Crocker, by whom she had one daughter, Miss Emily, who married a son of the late Cyrus Bridgham of West Minot, and second husband of Mrs. Crocker. Upon the death of her daughter the care of a large family of grandchildren fell to her lot and since the death of her husband, several years ago she has been the head of the household, until she was about four score and ten. A brother, Dr. Wm. P. Bridgham, and sister, Miss Aurelia Bridgham, both of whom have passed the fourscore mark, are the only survivors of the old Dr. Bridgham family of seven children. The remains were brought here Saturday afternoon for interment by the side of her first husband in the private cemetery on the old homestead.[1]
