In the 1850 census James (age 54) was in Cortlandt, Westchester, New York, United States.[2]
In the 1860 census Jas (age 64), Gentleman, was in Cortlandt, Westchester, New York.[3]
James died on 7 January 1866 & was buried beside his wife Hannah at the Old Van Cortlandtville Cemetery in Westchester County, New York. [4][5]
James's estate passed probate on 26 January 1866.[6]
