Elijah Nelson Briggs was born about 1803. Elijah was the child of Elkanna Briggs and Elizabeth Harris. Elijah passed away about 1870.
He married Nancy Brewer, daughter of William and Mary Brewer. Children of Nancy were: William E., Leroy, Mary and Anna. Nancy died about 1840. These children were listed in a codicil to William Brewer's will, written Jan. 15, 1851 and added to his will that had been written on December 21, 1850.
He married Elizabeth Long [Jan. 10 1843] daughter of William Long and Rebecca Hendley. Child was James.
He married Elizabeth [Carr] Smith Jan. 20, 1859 Clarke Co. MS Bk A, pg. 317 Elizabeth Carr had married David Smith Feb. 12, 1855] Children of Elizabeth Carr by Eli N. Briggs were: Dave, Ben and Simeon also had 3 daughters.
