He married Judith Damon on 15 July 1744 in Scituate.[2]
He passed away before 1790.
Probate
John Briggs of Scituate, yeoman died intestate and on 6 March 1790, John Briggs of Scituate and Ichabod Briggs of Cohasset were granted the administration of his estate.[3]
His inventory was taken on 10 March 1790 in Scituate. His estate was represented as insolvent.[4]
In 1791, a list of claims and creditors was recorded.[5] An account of his estate by John Briggs and Ichabod Briggs was recorded which included the sale of personal estate, the loss on the sale, debts paid, coffin, digging grave, provisions for the widow and family, necessaries to the widow, and administration fees.[6] A second account of his estate was recorded which included the sale of real estate and debts paid. His widow Judith received her dower.[7]
