The will of Cornelius Briggs of Rochester, yeoman, was dated 5 August 1763 and proved on 11 July 1764 in Plymouth. He mentions his wife Thankful, and his children, Nathaniel Briggs (executor) (he is bequeathed the indentured Indian boy named Thomas Faunce), John Briggs, Zephaniah Briggs, Marcy, wife of Noah Sprague, Jr., and his nephew, Cornelius Briggs, son of his brother John Briggs.
