Samuel Brigham married Elizabeth How, at Marlborough, Massachusetts, in 1683; only the year appears in the published vital records, which cite the Middlesex County copy.[2] Their first recorded child, Elizabeth, was born at Marlborough in either March or May 1685.[3] In his will, made on 24 May 1694, Abraham How of Marlborough names his daughter Elizabeth as the wife of Samuel Brigham.[4]
Death
Samuel Brigham died at Marlborough, Massachusetts, on 24 Jul 1713, as Capt. Samuel Brigham.[5] He is buried at the Old Common Burying Ground in Marlborough; the date on his gravestone agrees with the date in the vital records, and the stone says he was in his 59th year.[6]
Probate
Samuel Brigham died intestate. An inventory of his estate was filed on 24 Jul 1713, and totaled a substantial £1,263.8s.1d. Administration on his estate was granted to his widow, Elizabeth Brigham, and his oldest son, Samuel Brigham, in Middlesex County, Massachusetts, on 16 Dec 1714.[7]
