Biography

Fanny, the daughter of James Bright and Sophia Hatchard, was born January 7, 1841, and christened April 12, 1841, in Wimbledon, Surrey.[1][2] She married Anthony John Newman, a surgeon, at St. Luke's Church, Cheltenham, April 9, 1874.[3][4] In 1881, they had four children: twins, John E. and Guy (4), George A. (2) and Edith Mary (1).[5] Edith died in 1890. [6]By that time Frank J., Alice J. and Antonia had been born.[7]

The Newmans lived in Bowness-on-Windermere, Westmorland, where Anthony died in 1900[8] followed by Fanny in 1908.[9]
