Biography

Mary was baptised on 27 Aug 1792 at Somersham, Huntingdonshire, the daughter of William Bright and Sarah Wingrave. [1]

She married John Merrill of Caxton at All Saints and St John, Huntingdon, Huntingdonshire in 1816.[2]

They had two children, Maryan 1817-1827 and John Richard 1820-1905, before her husband's death in June 1821 age 28.[3]

She married John Richardson on 30 Nov 1824 at Caxton, Cambridgeshire - "John Richardson bachelor of this parish married Mary Merrel widow of this parish".[4]

She appeared in the 1841 census living at Caxton, Cambs - Mary Richardson 45, shopkeeper, not born in county; Hannah Richardson 15 born in county[5]

In the 1851 census she was living at Caxton, Cambs - Mary Ann Richardson head widow 58 shopkeeper born Hunts, Somersham; Hannah Richardson daughter unmarried 25 born Caxton [6]

In the 1861 census she was still living at Caxton, Cambs - Mary Richardson head widow 69 Small shopkeeper born Hunts Somersham, Mary A Merrill grand dau 10 scholar born Hunts Gt Gransden [7]

She was buried at Caxton, Cambs, on 13 Sep 1868 age 77 .[8]
