Biography

Albertus Bright was born in 1732. His birth was said to have been recorded in a Jones Family Bible, transcribed, and submitted to the Captain John Waller Chapter of the DAR in Lexington, Kentucky and published in 1939. This record also included his wife Patience was born 25 December 1732. These dates were likely recorded by the Julian calendar. Also submitted were the following:

Jane Ford Bright born about 1749 died Mar. 17, 1817
Jeptha Bright died Feb 19, 1870 in his 77th year
Elizabeth Bright died Feb 4, 1873 in her 74th year
John W. Bright born Apr. 29, 1791, died July 5, 1879
Charlotte C. M. Bright born May 10, 1806, died in her 99th year in Lexington, Kentucky
Jonathan Jones and Elizabeth Brite [Bright] were married Nov. 4, 1803.
Jonathan Jones was born born in Louden County, VA., Oct 23, 1772.
Elizabeth Bright Jones was born in S. Carolina, May 8, 1787 [Elizabeth was wife of Jonathan].

Albertus Bright is said to have lived in Virginia, then South Carolina, before moving to Kentucky about 1788. He is believed to have first arrived at Bryant's Station in Lexington. He thereafter moved to Shelby County settling on a farm about 2 miles south of Eminence, Kentucky. He passed away in Shelby County, Kentucky in 1824.
