Marie Jeanne Brignac, daughter of Simon Brignac, soldier in Derneville's company, and Marie Turpin, was likely born about 1730.
"She married Joseph Philippe Fontenot dit St. Philippe, soldier in Derneville's company, native of the Alibamons district, son of Louis Fonteneau dit Colin, sergeant, and Louise Henry, on May 24, 1747. Witnesses named: Simon Brignac, father of the bride; Pierre Domail, habitant. Witnesses signing: Cross of Simon Brignac, the bride's father; Pierre Domail; (Louis) Marcellin; (Francois) Hierly; Favre, not identified; (Louis) Houries or Houriez."[1][2]
Marie Brignac, Madame Fontenot, probably died May 6, 1802 as she was buried the following day, as recorded at St. Landry Catholic Church in Opelousas, Louisiana. Note that if she was born in 1730, the recorded age at death is too old; however, the priests were notoriously unreliable recorders of age at death. See below for other possible dates for her death.[8]
Another Marie Brignac died in Opelousas on 4 December 1799, no age or spouse listed.[9]
There is also this death record, though the spouse name is problematic:

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships.
It is likely that these
autosomal DNA
test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Marie Jeanne:
Brignac-137 and Brignac-1 appear to represent the same person because: There are three profiles for two sisters both called Marie and both married two Fontenot brothers, Philippe and Joseph. Let's consider merging these two because they have the same husband. The death date needs to be reconciled--there are 3 death notices for women named Marie in Opelousas.
Brignac-137 and Brignac-1 appear to represent the same person because: Although Brignac-127 is unsourced, we can still determine that they are meant to be the same person who married Phillipe Fontenot in 1747. The two women also have the same parents, and similar names. There is no indication of the possibility that the two are sisters who married the same man only a few weeks apart. Keep the information on Brignac-1 and delete what is on Brignac-137. Thanks
Brignac-75 and Brignac-1 are not ready to be merged because: The spouse's name and the marriage date isn't close. There is some confusion with this family so I think we need to do more research before merging. There may be some conflation so some of the info and sourcing is the same.
