John Brine was born in Dorset, England.

John was born about September 1787 in Blandford, Dorset, England [1]. He was the son of James Brine and his wife Alicia Catherine Jones.

John was privately baptised at St Mary's Church in Blandford, Dorset, England on 2 October 1787 to Captain James Brine and his wife Katherine [2].

John married Elizabeth Horlock Bastard at St Andrew Church, Holborn, London, England on 11 October 1819 by Licence [3]. He is of the parish and a Bachelor. The marriage was held in the presence of Thomas Price and George Hicks.

Not found a conclusive entry on the 1841 England Census for John.

On the 1851 England Census, John is living at Brown Bottom, Parkstone, Dorset, England with his wife Elizabeth Horlock Brine nee Bastard and 2 servants, Mary Wort and Emma Bowering. He is a retired Commander of the Royal Navy [4].

He passed away on 6 May 1856 in Blanford, Dorset, England [5]. He was buried on 12 May 1856 at St Mary's Church, in Charlton Marshall, Dorset, England [6].
