John was born about September 1787 in Blandford, Dorset, England ^[1]. He was the son of James Brine and his wife Alicia Catherine Jones.

John was privately baptised at St Mary's Church in Blandford, Dorset, England on 2 October 1787 to Captain James Brine and his wife Katherine ^[2].

John married Elizabeth Horlock Bastard at St Andrew Church, Holborn, London, England on 11 October 1819 by Licence ^[3]. He is of the parish and a Bachelor. The marriage was held in the presence of Thomas Price and George Hicks.
