On the 1851 England Census, Ellen lived on High Street in Poole, Dorset, England with her father Thomas Charles Augustus Brine, mother Mary Cockram Brine nee Adey and sister, Mary Elizabeth Brine along with 3 servants, Sarah Underwood and Maria A Messer, who are house servants, and Mary Cookman, a nurse ^[3].
